As part of Paris Fashion Week, the Spring Summer 2017 Couture show of fashion designer Georges Chakra took place on the 24th of Januray 2017 at the Palais de Tokyo in Paris.
This season, Georges Chakra invited us to an intimate and joyful celebration. His new collection is entirely inspired by an exceptional and cherished occasion: the wedding of his own daughter, this upcoming summer, for which the couturier has imagined a cortege of modern refinement and absolute glamour.
Let the celebration begin!
Pastel shades, colors of dawn, Aurora Borealis, Mist, blue reflections and a wide range of rose tonalities twirl around in a festive circle leading to the halo of white light, just like a sunny summer day.
Broderie Anglaise, guipure lace fabrics and hand-painted motifs are combined with light layers of tulle, perforated textiles, laser-cut fabric, sprinkled with crystals and brilliant stones. The result is a stunning ball of ultra-feminine belted corsets and strapless gowns…
Here comes a short dress with crystal dragonflies, and another long column yellow gown, wide striped organza and satin pants, coats adorned with ribbons and feathers, short bolero jackets, long royal capes, a décolleté smoking; transparent dresses as light as the morning dew.
The guests, dressed with elegance and style, are floating seductively in contemporary romantic designs.
The Maids of Honor
Violet, Rose, blue Bellflower, Nasturtium, Lily of the Valley, Magnolia, field leaves, dreamy butterflies… Ankle length ballerina dresses are revealed on the podium like a stunning festival of blooming flowers. Picked from the garden of Eden, the flowers are painted over the dresses in vivid colors, embossed in lace, sewed in silk, highlighted with strass, and even laser cut lacquered wood…
Picture perfect hand-crafted Maids of Honor dress to escort the bride on her big day.
A Bride in Seventh Heaven
Walking on a cloud, the bride exudes brilliance and euphoria in a white strapless tulle d’esprit gown with side ruffles and sequins.
A large crowd of fashion lovers, press and VIPs, such as American actor Shawn Pyfrom and actress/model Océane Chiaroni, Czech model and philanthropist Petra Nemcova, Jeweller Fawaz Gruosi and Sophie Taylor, French actresses Noémie Merlant and Cyrielle Clair as well as French model and beauty pageant Flora Coquerel, gave the designer a well-deserved standing ovation at the end of his show.
